Bring Vietnamese traditional medicine to the world by “Borderless doctor”
Tho Xuan Duong is a long-standing traditional pharmacy associated with the Phungs Family, originally initiated from the Later Lê dynasty, then having existed and developed throughout Vietnamese feudal dynasties up to now. Tho Xuan Duong was recorded in Vietnam Book of Records as “The oldest family-owned pharmacy in Vietnam” with 400 years of establishment and development.
Nowadays, Tho Xuan Duong Oriental Medicine Pharmacy is inherited by Polyclinic Herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan - the 16th generation descendant of the Phungs Family. The herb doctor has promoted tradition of Tho Xuan Duong by treating deseases withVietnamese traditional herbs, together with utilizing the strengths of other medical therapies in diagnosing and treating effectively common ailments to hard-to-treat diseases. Besides, Herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan has made endless effort to introduce Traditional Vietnamese medicine to the world by different methods.
Most recently, from September 28th to October 5th 2015, herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan and his colleagues had a business trip to New Delhi (India) at the invitation of Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury- General director of Asian Record Organization. On that occassion, Giang Phung Tuan launched the book “Borderless Doctors” writen by himself and Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury. The book is the result of two traditional medicine backgrounds, Vietnam and India, the intersection between the two and is considered as the essential handbook for disease preventation and treatment for people worldwide.

Vietnam and India are renowned for wisdom in traditional medicine. Based on two Eastern traditional medicine backgrounds which are among the world largest ancient medicines, “Borderless Doctor” of herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan and Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury opens new perspectives for global readers about healing therapy for both common ailments and chronic diseases, which consists of healthy lifestyle, environmental-friendly cure from natural ingredients based onIndian and Vietnamese folk treatments. In this book, physician Giang Phung Tuan introduces the history of 16-generation practice of Vietnamese Traditional medicine and Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, a world-famous Indian diabetes specialist, jointly compiles the crystallization of the two medicines. The book aims to help readers recover illnesses and become their own doctors.
Based on the thorough thousand-generation knowledge of Indian and Vietnamese traditional herbs, herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan and Dr. Biswaroop Chowdhury summarize diseases from common to chronic ones, guide diagnosis and support treatment, making the work a medical handbook that everyone can follow. Readers can recognize diseases through observing other’s apperance like color skin, touching the forehead to diagnose fever or cold, seeing scratches or taking temperature and so forth. For instance, some symptoms of hepatitis are anorexia, nausea, yellow eyes, yellow skin, urine with orange or brown color or with white particles and low-grade fever. Symptoms of pneumonia are possibly breathing fast and shallow, rapidly rising temperature, coughing with green or yellow mucus or coughing up blood. The two physicians also guide how to feel the pulse to check heart rate, conditions of body parts (ears, eyes, nose, mouth, hands and feet) and to realize overall individual health condition thereof. These prelimininary knowldge would partly expand people’s understandings about wide Vietnamese traditional medicine and Idian traditional one (Ayurveda). Additionally, readers are shown how to do the first aid for unconsciousness, choking and artificial respiration, etc. Many diseases mentioned in the book are meant to be treated by herbs. For example, in case of hair loss, people can take lemon to massage scalp, drink carrot and broccoli juice to complement vitamins and acid folic. To release back pain, drink boilt water with tulsi leaves and black cardamon or apply aloe vera gel. Another therapy for healing the pain is to drink lemonade or tart cherry juice. For heart disease, chewing a clove of garlic per day when hungry, drinking one tablespoon of onion juice in the morning or one tablespoon of honey after meals might be helpful. Drinking grape juice, apple juice or sugar beet juice every day is also a good choice for heart treatment.
Food therapies that are suitable for life force and diseases like cancer, heart diseases and hepatitis drawn from Vietnamese traditional medicine and Ayurveda make people live in harmony with the universe, with nature in order to reach the equilibrium and the peak of health and spirit.

Up to present, Dr. Giang Phung Tuan and his colleagues at Tho Xuan Duong Oriental Medicine Pharmacy have diagnosed and treated for many patients from 102 nations worldwide with numerous diseases such as asthma, Duchene muscular dystrophy (DMD), scleroderma and epilepsy. With these achievements, at the end of March 2015, Herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan was recognized as a physician who treated patients from most countries with Vietnamese herbal medicine by the Asian Record Organization (ARO). He was also honoured with an honorary Doctorate Degree conferred by the World Records University and the World Creativity Golden Disc by the World Creativity Science Academy not only for his having provided treatment to tens of thousands of people but having contributed to bring the value of Vietnamese traditional medicine to international arena as well.

Aiming at providing the best treatments, Herb doctor Giang Phung Tuan never seems to satisfy with what he has achieved. For him, bringing health and prolonging survival for patients are foremost. Hence, on July 2014, he established a high-qualified Therapy Center at Tho Xuan Duong. This center provides Vietnamese traditional therapy using many national herbs.
